A relationship is an act of courage, recognition and drive.
Courage, because it requires you to first own your imperfections and faults; to expose the disparity between who you are and who you could be.
Recognition, because it requires you to recognize that the other person is also faulty in all sorts of ways that are different from yours and is trying to navigate the world in the best way possible.
Drive, because it requires you to take the hand of the person and admit:
"All things considered, it is better for us to walk the treacherous path of life together, imperfect as we are; whenever you fall short of your ideal, I will be there to help you; whenever I fall down, maybe you can help me to get on my feet. The journey is difficult, but it is also meaningful and worth sharing, and I want to share it with you."
